Nesma Water & Energy is awarded a Wastewater Treatment Plant - Operations & Maintenance Project in Tabuk Area

In a significant development for the region’s water infrastructure, a new project focused on the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants (STPs) has been officially awarded in the Tabuk area. The project, awarded by the National Water Company (NWC), underscores a strategic move to enhance wastewater management across multiple locations within the region.

Project Overview

The project is scheduled to commence on October 1, 2025, and is set to conclude by September 31, 2028. It involves comprehensive operation and maintenance services for several key wastewater treatment facilities, aiming to ensure sustainable water management, environmental protection, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Scope and Locations

The scope of work encompasses the operation and maintenance of five distinct wastewater treatment plants, each uniquely tailored to the demands of their respective locations:

  • Haql: Processing 14,000 m³/day using conventional activated sludge treatment technology.
  • Duba: Also with a capacity of 14,000 m³/day and utilizing conventional activated sludge.
  • Al Wajh: Featuring the same capacity and treatment process as Haql and Duba.
  • Umluj: Slightly larger, with a capacity of 16,000 m³/day, employing conventional activated sludge.
  • Eskan Umluj: A smaller facility handling 1,000 m³/day, with treatment B (MBBR) technology.

Project Details

The contract value for this comprehensive operation and maintenance initiative stands at SAR 31,920,976 (excluding VAT). A dedicated team of 120 skilled professionals will be engaged throughout the project’s duration, ensuring high standards of operational efficiency and environmental compliance.

This project represents a crucial step toward strengthening wastewater treatment capabilities in the Tabuk region, supporting the broader objective of sustainable development and improved public health standards.
